ok - this entry will be a long one since it is long overdue. lots has happened... we've moved into a bigger house... grandma and grandpa live with us... aly can cruise (walk while holding on to something)... she can also drive a car (sort of)... AND she almost swallowed a gold charm from my mom's necklace... the drama never ends with this baby!
here she is riding on her fisher price stride-to-ride car. she just recently turned nine months, but she's been interested in walking since she turned eight months. she can get around quite independently on her toy car. what is most amusing is how she occassionally pauses to honk the horn and manipulate the many levers and buttons that result in a song or a friendly woman's voice exclaiming phrases like, "beep beep!" or "vroom vroom... driving is fun!" or "weather today: sunny!"
here she is cruising with the grandmoms... she loves it when two people are holding each of her hands. she squeals and screams in excitement beacause she can hardly contain herself. it's very precious (and sometimes deafening).
upon only riding her stride-to-ride car for only a month, aly seems to be confident that she can maneuver a real vehicle. she will even take one hand off the steering wheel to push the radio buttons. but to her dismay, there are no fun sounds that result.
the blue pacifier is only included in this image to give you an idea of the size of the gold heart charm beside it. this charm belongs to my mother. she's had this charm since i was a baby. if you look closely, you'll notice a slight impression that i created when i was a baby while chewing on it. however, aly took it a step further than i did. she surreptiously managed to pull it off the gold chain hanging around my mother's neck and put it in her mouth. my mother only discovered it when she tried to give her a bottle. strangely, she wasn't so eager like she usually is... and she quickly realized it was because aly had something entirely more interesting in her mouth. when my mother told me the story later, i commented that if she had swallowed it, she would have just pooped it out. to that, my mom retorted in korean... then she would have made a golden poopie (geum ddong)! the korean translation is much more hilarious!
as if she didn't have enough of her oral adventures... here she is enjoying canteloupe. she'll basically eat anything you put near her mouth. fortunately, canteloupe is actually food and good for you.
that's all for now... enjoy!
