since having children, time seems to pass at a rate that leaves me out of breath. there's nothing that knocks the wind out of me more than when i look at nori & aly. strangers with older children of their own are always stopping me in the supermarket to remind me to treasure each moment with them now because it all passes by in a whirlwind. somehow, in spite of all the caveats from well-meaning onlookers who have gone before me, i am surprised -- sometimes more moments in a day than i can count -- by how overwhelmed i feel. it's not by the whining, the fighting, the biting, the crying, and the diaper-changing protesting... no - i'm most overwhelmed by the mere thought of one day never being able to witness their unfiltered innocence of just being children. perhaps it's because their simple nature is something so foreign to me, yet something i desperately long to reclaim. for now, all i have is my camera and this blog to help me remember while i do my best to savor each moment the day has in store.
